Flume 2.8.5
It’s been a while since there’s been a decent update for everyone, so today we’re finally releasing Flume 2.8.5. Consider this one of those “every other” macOS releases, where Tim Cook gets up on a stage somewhere and tries to get shareholders excited about the new macOS update that will only include fixes and improvements, ending each and every sentence with “isn’t that MAGICAL?!”
There’s so many changes in this update that you could spend an hour reading the change log (below), but hopefully what you’ll all notice after you update to 2.8.5 is that Flume feels faster, uses less memory, generally feels more stable and goes a long way to fixing many (if not all) of the gripes or issues you’ve had in the past.
We don’t claim to be perfect, so if something still isn’t working correctly, please report it to us - we read and respond to every single email and tweet, and read all crash reports.
The update is available to download via our website and via in-app update. To use the in-app updater, quit and relaunch Flume, or use the “Flume > Check for Updates” menu item.
Setapp users of Flume will automatically be updated to 2.8.5 once it is reviewed and approved.
Help spread the word!
Flume is a completely independent project, developed, maintained, and supported by just one person.. If you’re enjoying these free updates, please support the future development and consider upgrading to Flume Pro.
Thank you to all those who have helped support Flume so far - there’s more to come!

- NEW: Carousel posts can be swiped with a mouse gesture when in column view mode or on the detail view.
- NEW: Video uploads can have their volume adjusted (or muted entirely).
