Sibelius 6.1 update

Sibelius 6.1 provides compatibility for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and Windows 7, and includes other improvements and fixes. It is available free of charge for registered Sibelius 6 users. Read a full list of fixes in Sibelius 6.1.

See below for instructions on how to install Sibelius 6.1 on Windows and Mac.

It is recommended that you do not update your copy of Sibelius in the middle of a project.

Installing Sibelius 6.1 on Windows

Quit Sibelius 6.
If you are running Sibelius 6.0.1:
- You must uninstall Sibelius 6.0.1 and reinstall Sibelius 6.0 before you update to Sibelius 6.1. To do this, go to Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and Features (Windows Vista or Windows 7) in Control Panel, choose Sibelius 6 from the list of installed programs and click Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista or Windows 7), then follow the instructions on the screen. (There is no need to unregister your copy before you uninstall.)
- Reinstall Sibelius 6.0 from your Sibelius 6 DVD-ROM.
Once you are running Sibelius 6.0.0 build 54, you can proceed directly to the next step.
Now download the updater: Sibelius610UpdateEnglish.msp (68MB)
Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation process.
You will see a window welcoming you to the Sibelius 6 installation wizard. Click Next.
A progress bar appears as the update is applied. This takes a few seconds.
You will be told that Sibelius 6 has been successfully installed. Click Finish.
Now run Sibelius 6.
Choose About Sibelius from the Help menu, and check the version number: it should read Version 6.1.0 build 14.

Double-click the MAC OS folder. Double-click the appropriate folder for your operating system. Double-click the DisplayLink Installer 75598.dmg file. Follow the prompts to install the new drivers. Mac os x usb download. The USB-MIDI Driver is for use with Studio Manager V2 Host and Editor. Quit Sibelius 6.
Download Sibelius610UpdateEnglish.dmg (95MB)
Your browser should automatically mount the downloaded disk image: if not, double-click the downloaded file to mount the disk image.
Inside the disk image you will find a single icon, Sibelius 6.1 Update. Double-click this to begin installation.
You are shown information about how to get technical help in the event that you have problems updating. Click Continue.
You are shown (scant) details of the fixes in Sibelius 6.1. Click Continue.
You are given the opportunity to review the Sibelius 6 license agreement. Click Continue, then Agree.
Select the hard disk on which Sibelius 6 is installed, and click Continue.
You are told that the update is ready to install, so click Install.
You are prompted to provide your administrator password: do so, and click OK.
A progress bar appears as the update is applied.
After a few seconds, you will be informed that installation was successful. Click Finish.
Now run Sibelius 6.
Choose About Sibelius 6 from the Sibelius 6 menu, and check the version number: it should read Version 6.1.0 build 14.

I am using the latest Sib. 8.0.1 and at the moment in the hands of AVID support, have others also had this error?
Did you find a fix for it?

What happened to the PC between the time that Sibelius last worked, and the first time that this error occurred?

Sibelius does not install or use MSVCP110.dll.
The version that Sibelius installs and uses is MSVCP100.dll.
If MSVCP110.dll is being requested, the request is not coming from Sibelius, but possibly from a linked VST, or a device driver.

Thanks to all for responding!
This is the first time I have installed Sibelius on this new machine as my 2nd Copy of Sibelius permitted!
The missing file MSVCP110.dll I appreciate is a Windows file, not a Sibelius file.
AS I also stated, this problem is also being looked at by AVID support!

If you don't need to understand the cause of the problem, but just want a solution, then install the missing Visual Studio run-time files from:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
Download and install both the x86 and x64 versions.

Even if it doesn't fix the problem, it can't do much harm.
If you want to be cautious, create a System Restore point (using the Control Panel) before you install it. Then, if it doesn't fix the problem you can easily get rid of it.
